I swear this was in an episode of The Magnus Archives, but I can't find it in the episode synopsis. It was definitely read aloud somewhere. It was from the point of view of a man who was friends with a man who found a supposedly magic book and was obsessively decoding it. He was convinced it was a spell to teleport and broke his leg trying to cast it, as it moved him up some stairs, but not wholly, and he fell off them.

The story ended with the man going missing for some time. Eventually, his severed legs were discovered in a room with concrete walls, and the last lines were the narrator musing that if they broke the wall next to the legs, they would find the rest of the man inside.
