I’m a first year civil engineer in uni and I really want to have experience working in construction so I can be more likely chosen for site engineering roles once I graduate along side internships in my second and third year), and to also understand what it’s like working in construction.
I’m able to work everyday all day except mondays and thursdays but most jobs require me available Monday -Friday. I could take those days off as lectures are recorded and I do the work home anyways but even so I wouldn’t be considered as I’m a full time uni student and my workload is only going to get larger.
I’m not sure what I should do, I’ve tried seek, indeed, supp, agencies and they literally all require skilled and the ability to work 30+ hrs.
All my experience is working in fast food so I’m not even gonna be considered.
Does anyone know any place to apply (Melb) for unskilled laberours or anyway to get experience in construction whilst in uni? Should I just say I’m not in uni atp?
