First time using any type of Heath Riles seasoning.

Practice rib on the Weber kettle (M&M Oak & Hickory Coals w/ Oak Chunk) before I smoke up 8 racks in sunday. Overall, the color it adds is pretty great. We’ll see how it tastes!

UPDATE:

Alright so the color came out AMAZING. A nice great mahogany color that we’re all looking for.

I pinched off a piece to taste test and it tasted perfect. Not too salty, not too sweet, just right. A lot of other rubs I’ve tried were always either too salty or too sweet.

But then… I started actually eating it. I’m not sure if it’s just me but I could not taste the seasoning throughout the meat. It was very light on the surface and plain on the inside. Maybe I cooked it too fast?, maybe I needed to season it and let it sit for a while before throwing it on the grill?
