I just saw my 3rd consult surgeon who says he would do this technique to hopefully obtain clear margin during surgery. From what he described, while I was under, the excised tissue near the margin would be sent to pathology, analyzed and if it wasn't clear, he would take a little more. If clear, all good. I am wondering because the second consult surgeon didn't mention using this technique.
