A Man Who Answers Straight

this is set in a world where the republicans remain liberal and the democrats remain conservative.

and yes, sarah palin is liberal in this world

and yes, i know its unrealistic and shit. so dont point out the obvious like why dick cheney is al gore's vp or other stuff idk

and in this timeline, the democrats have an insane boundback in 2016 because of a massive recession that occurs in this world in 2015, tanking obama's polls

wait i think im on the wrong community

i thought this was the community you posted historical american elections. sorry. might aswell still post it...

this is set in a world where austria is a lot more powerful than it was in the 1600s and england colonizes america but looses it after a war with austria in the 1600s somehow. then america revolts in 1776, and does america.

this is probably shit, and theres probably alot of mistakes and unrealistic crap, so no need to point out the elephant in the room.

Just an accurate representation on how American politics has been since 1992. Nothing weird here.

This is set in a very weird world where after a 531 electoral vote landslide for Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1936, the Republican Party shattered. From the 1940s-1980s, the Party System was dominated by the Democrats, the Progressives, and the Sovereigntists. However, the Progressive and Sovereign parties began to die off in the 1980s, especially during the very popular Presidency of Ronald Reagan, who was a Democrat.

In 1985, Ross Perot, a Texan billionaire, founded the Reform Party and several famous people, including billionaire mogul Donald Trump, and WWE champion Jesse Ventura. When 1988 rolled around, the Reform Party didn't gain that much traction, only winning Maine and a single electoral vote from Texas. After the horrific Presidency of Bill Clinton however, the Reform Party exploded in popularity and became a major party, so when the 1992 election rolled around, Ross Perot, under the Reform Party, prevented Clinton's Re-election, and won. During the Presidency of Ross Perot, he and Vice President Donald Trump signed many anti-immigration laws, attempting to prevent that "giant sucking sound" that made many workers go overseas. When 1996 rolled around, Perot and Trump had no issues winning re-election against Democratic candidate Jerry Brown.

In 2000, Vice President Donald Trump ran for the Reform Ticket, being seen as a national favourite during the primaries. However, in April, he would drop out of the race after sexual scandals involving him and Jeffrey Epstein reached public views. However, Trump quickly re-entered the race in June and won the primaries and went on to defeat Democratic candidate Al Gore. In Trump's presidency, he presided over the September 11 attacks, which Trump responded with by enacting the War on Terror and forming the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE). When 2004 rolled around, yet more sexual scandals arose but Trump pursued and won re-election against Democratic John Edwards. In his second term, Trump continued to send people to fight tyranny in Iraq and Afghanistan, with his popularity declining ever so slightly. When the 2008 recession arrived, his popularity imploded, with him reaching lows of 9% during a survey in October 2008. While all of this was happening, famous Senator from Delaware Joe Biden was running the Democratic ticket and was able to win it. He later selected the son of famous President John F. Kennedy, John F. Kennedy Jr., as his Vice President and they both went on to defeat Reform Candidate Jesse Ventura in the election.

Biden quickly began to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan, and began planning for the Affordable Care Act, which was jokingly nicknamed as "Bidencare". When Seal Team 6 captured Osama Bin Laden in 2011, Biden's popularity skyrocketed upwards, allowing him and JFK Jr. to win a smooth re-election in 2012 against John McCain. In his second term, Congress passed Bidencare and it was enacted. Along with that, Biden increased relations with Europe and Russia, famously meeting Vladimir Putin and during that meeting, muttering that Russia would be a good member of NATO. He shook it off however when interviewers asked him what he said. When 2016 arrived, many people expected JFK Jr. to win the primaries and to win the election. This however would be proven false after JFK Jr. would drop out of the race right before Super Tuesday. This caused a panic and allowed famous Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, to win the primaries and to become the first man of colour to win the primaries. Barack Obama selected Tom Steyer, the founder of the Nextgen Climate organization, as his Vice President and they both went on to defeat Reform candidate, and former Vice President, Oprah Winfrey in the 2016 election. Obama would quickly rise in popularity, especially after the killing of Saddam Hussein, the dictator of Iraq, in 2019. When Covid-19 rolled around, his popularity saw a drop, but it was still high enough for him to win re-election in 2020 against Reform candidate Gary Johnson. In his second term, Obama signed laws to battle the disease and helped America create a cure in late 2021. Obama especially gained popularity after convincing Denmark to give them Greenland in 2022, with Obama being referred to on social media as "The Second Coming of Lincoln." As the 2024 election is right around the corner, we await to see who will win it. Democratic candidate Tom Steyer or Reform candidate Bernie Sanders.

PS: this scenario is set in 2024 but my dumbass forgot to put "incumbent" in the obama list of president thing. whatever.

PS: the reason i didnt include the 1992, 1996, 2008, 2012, 2016, or the 2020 elections is because, i just didnt want to.

how you may ask. simple. coolidge just decides to run for a third term, somehow wins, then the depression occurs,. everyone hates him, he "accidentally" causes a massacre in kansas, he reaches like the bottom of the barrel popularity, allowing for macarthur to rise in popularity and get nominated by both the democratic and nationalist parties. after the 1932 election, coolidge's supporters raided the capitol building to try and overturn the election but it failed, and coolidge would be executed by firing squad in late march

and in no way is this realistic so dont go be saying it

u/Any_Objective_3046 — 12 days ago

yes i know its low quality shut up

how did this happen you may ask? well in 1912, teddy somehow won after an event in america called the "great scare" occurred basically making alot of americans think all the candidates except teddy would empower the kkk somehow, causing him to win. teddy refuses to run for a 4th term in 1916 and the bull moose party merges back with the republicans. charles evan hughes wins in 1916 and leads america through ww1. 1920, democratic candidate franklin d. roosevelt wins but dies from his polio in early 1924, causing his vp, william gibbs mcdoo or whatever his name is, to become president and win in 1924. john nance garner would win in 1928, and in this timeline, charles curtis is his vp for whatever reason. so 1929 rolls around, and charles curtis somehow fucks up wall street, causing the crash, and all the blame to go onto garner. garner and curtis sign terrible laws causing a massive republican surge, and whatnot. so in 1926, huey long, especially after loosing the democratic primary in 1924, huey long became a republican and went on to do what he does in the scenario.
