As a hot 23f living in St Louis, I like to know who in my neighborhood is on the registry. My Citizen app showed me somebody new had moved in, so I went for a little scroll around on the registry website.
I zoomed out a little farther than usual and saw a massive cluster of them in one neighborhood. A neighborhood next to an elementary school. I clicked on the names and most of them have offenses against children, spanning from teens all the way as young as 4. There are tier 1s and tier 3s in there (ive actually never seen any tier 2s - so as a side curiosity, why might that be?), most were compliant but a couple non-compliant too.
How is this allowed? Is the "cant live near a school" a myth or something? Is it maybe that the rule is waived since the city is so packed? Just seriously in general, what is going on there?
