My golden retriever puppy is officially 9 weeks old. I’m trying to make sure I’m giving her the best nighttime bathroom schedule.
Last night, she was put in her crate at 9PM — the norm since we’ve had her given this is when she crashes. We had a terrible night with her two nights ago, so I read about doing a “dream potty run” at 11PM to reset her clock so to speak. I did just that last night. Come 4:30AM she was whining to be let out, which I did. She was a bit fussy going back into the crate, but she was able to settle shortly after. At 6AM, my husband let her out of the crate to start her day. She wasn’t fussing at that time whatsoever.
This felt like a huge success, but I’d love some POV. Should I continue with the 11PM “dream potty”, and let her wake me at 4:30AM again? Or should I proactively beat her to it and wake her at 4AM?
