I have 2 White's Tree Frogs, but the male is younger and smaller than the female and it seems like she bullies him around, so I'm wanting to try making the guy his own tank. Ive had an idea to use the Walstad method for it, but I'm worried that plant filtration & a cleanup crew would not be enough to stop ammonia spikes from large & frequent frog poops.
I'm thinking I can have a shallow bathing pool for him in front of the tank, with a pump behind it that goes to a much larger pool on the back that i plan to stuff with fast growing plants and shrimp. Sort of like this yt video: tanks for nothin Waterfall
Is there any way to know if this will work before I set the whole thing up? Has anyone else successfully used a setup like this for a frog? Any advice is appreciated.
