Please note: While I may have received partial benefits or discounts, I chose this clinic after extensive research, and everything written here reflects my honest experience.

Okay so basically I was looking for a really good and skilled surgeon to do my nose job because I’ve had past accidents that made my nose crooked. I had two injuries and even a fracture that didn’t heal properly because it was during COVID and going to the hospital was honestly scary at the time, so I just didn’t go. But because of that, my nose ended up really crooked.

Not just from the outside, I also had really bad deviation. Like genuinely, my whole life I don’t remember being able to fully breathe through my nose. So breathing was a huge reason for me.

I also wanted turbinate reduction, but I was so scared because I had seen people complain about getting a constant runny nose after, so I went into this being very cautious.

Also, I know a lot of people want that very obvious “done” nose, like a button nose, but I didn’t want that at all. I wanted it to look really natural like to the point where most people wouldn’t even be able to tell I had surgery. That was literally my goal.

What I wanted was: slight hump removal, some tip support, fixing the crookedness from the front, and then also septoplasty and turbinate reduction. So it was NOT a simple surgery at all, but at the same time I wanted it to look like almost nothing was done. My nose was already harmonious with my face, so I didn’t want to mess with it too much. I just wanted a conservative approach.

But at the same time… what I needed wasn’t small. Like a lot of work actually had to be done.

I also didn’t want 100% hump removal. My nose is high but not super high, and I was scared that fully shaving it down would make it look too low, and also increase the risk of things like polly beak or open roof deformity. And I was thinking long term too, I wanted something that would age nicely.

I actually got rejected from two clinics before this, which was kind of crazy. A lot of clinics in Korea focus on silicone implants, making the nose higher, or doing alar reduction, which I didn’t want at all. I didn’t need my nose to be higher. So I really wanted someone who had experience working with foreign noses and also did functional stuff like septoplasty.

That’s why I chose VG. They offered septoplasty, and after talking to the doctor I felt really satisfied. He could tell I had done my research and he actually understood what I meant by wanting something conservative.

At other clinics, they kept telling me “your tip is bulbous, we’ll narrow it, we’ll lift it a lot,” and I was like… no. I don’t think my tip is bulbous, and even if it is, it suits my face. I didn’t want a super skinny tip because that can look really artificial.

But Dr. Nam just got it. From the very first consultation, which was literally a year before my surgery, I felt comfortable. I sat on this decision for a whole year. It was not impulsive at all. And over that time, I just kept feeling like I could trust him.

Also the staff?? So much nicer than other places. I literally got yelled at at another clinic (not naming names but yeah), so this was a huge difference. The English-speaking staff were especially sweet.

On the day of surgery I was actually really nervous, especially because I looked so different without makeup and I was lowkey scared of being judged 😭 but they were so nice it genuinely calmed me down.

Right before surgery I had another consultation with the doctor and it lasted like an hour. I felt so bad because I knew my case was complex and I was taking up time, but I’m SO glad I did that because he really listened and gave proper suggestions.

And honestly, trust your doctor. Like obviously don’t blindly agree to everything, but if they suggest something, really think about it. They know things you don’t.

For example, he told me what I wanted might not be possible without tipplasty. We talked about it and in the end I didn’t get full tipplasty, but I did get slight tip work so my nose wouldn’t look long or droopy after hump removal. And I’m really happy with that.

I was VERY strict about not wanting an upturned nose. I was literally like “one degree max please.” But now I kind of wish I had listened to him a tiny bit more 😭 because around 2–3 weeks post-op my nose looked SO perfect to me. Then it settled (which is normal) and dropped slightly. I still love it, but yeah… I get what he meant now.

Surgery day itself was honestly smooth. I came from another city so I stayed in a hotel with a friend. They made me really comfortable and then suddenly it was over.

When I woke up… my nose felt SO spicy 😭 like someone put hot sauce inside it. That’s normal though. Painkillers helped a lot the first day, but after that it was more discomfort than pain, especially because I had a lot of internal work done.

I was bleeding quite a bit at first (normal, especially with turbinate reduction), but it stopped after like a day.

Sleeping was actually the worst part. I couldn’t sleep properly for 3 days because of the packing. And because I had lateral osteotomy too, I had to be super careful.

For like 3 months I didn’t sleep on my side at all. I literally slept sitting up. That was my own choice, I spent so much time, money, and effort on this, I wasn’t about to mess it up. And honestly I’m glad I did that because my nose is perfectly straight now.

I even traveled during that time and yeah I had a bit of swelling after, but nothing serious.

And now… I’m genuinely SO happy with my results.

Everyone keeps saying it’s one of the most natural rhinoplasties they’ve seen. My dad literally said “are you sure you got surgery? you just look like yourself but prettier.” My mom loved it. My friends all said I look like a better version of myself, like they can’t tell exactly what changed, but it’s obvious in photos.

Which is exactly what I wanted.

Also breathing??? Life-changing. It took about 4 months but now I can breathe properly through both nostrils. I don’t sleep with my mouth open anymore, and my jaw pain is basically gone.

Even if I wasn’t writing this, I would still recommend this doctor for life. That’s how happy I am.

My nose feels really stable, and the follow-ups have been amazing. I had weekly follow-ups for the first month, then again at 2 months and 4 months, and I’ll be going again soon.

I’ll post photos from before, right after, after cast removal, and monthly updates so you can see everything.

Right after surgery, from the front my nose looked like a potato 😭 because of swelling (expected, especially since my bones were broken), but from the side it already looked amazing. The swelling has gone down SO much and will keep going down.

And just to mention: if you still see a slight hump, that’s intentional. I only removed like 70%, not 100%.

Yeah… that was my experience.
