So i'm car shopping but I can't decide, there's a Honda that's basically mint, but no CarPlay i know you can install it aftermarket but I feel like it's not the same as factory

There's a Mazda however has all the stuff I want it's got CarPlay and some other stuff that I like i also want to decorate the interior mostly and I think it'd look really nice

however my dad is pretty furious at the fact that I focus on stupid stuff instead of looking at the car like an actual vehicle and caring about fuel efficiency and other stuff like that

Am I wrong? Also he got really mad that I didn't want to run a carfax because it's $40 i'd rather spend that on food
