So I got off birth control a year ago. I had a few irregular periods after getting off the Annovera ring. Eventually my periods stopped completely. I probably went over six months without a period so I finally decided to see a doctor. The doctor gave me a pap smear, did blood work, & scheduled an ultrasound. (I have never had a pap smear before. I am 26 y/o.) The second day after my pap smear I started bleeding like I was on period. This isn't just spotting. I also have been experiencing cramps since the day of my pap smear. Is it possible the pap smear caused my period to come back or is something else going on?
