Let's start with the fact that I don't know printers or papers at all, exept the basic like an OfficeJet with a scanner, and I don't know what different paper thicknesses, gloss etc play a part in what I'm looking for, so explain it like I'm 5 if you can.
I run, and take part of table top roleplaying games. It's a really fun hobby for me, and I'd like to upgrade my prints and handouts to make them feel a bit more professional.
What I want, if possible (no clue what budget is needed for this either), is a printer that can handler slightly thicker paper than a regular office A¤, and preferably a bit of glossier paper. If you've ever flipped through a TTRPG book, like from from Dungeons and Dragons, you'll get the idea, just not for several thousand dollars.
What models, functions, words etc should I look for in a printer to try and get to where I'm going?
What thickness of paper would work so they don't jam, and is there a special name to the kind of paper I'm looking for?
Thank you in advance.
