I went to meet a pup yesterday for one night of house sitting. They had her out on a walk when I got to the house. Then brought her in when I was inside. They told me to just ignore her. She was very well trained, they had her stay on her bed the whole time. She did come up to sniff me. Didn’t bark at me. They said once she determines friend from foe she is super sweet. I didn’t get to pet her or really interact with her during the meet and greet.
For the house sitting, they said I will arrive while they’re still home so there’s a transition period before they leave.
I’m a bit nervous about watching this dog. I had a bad experience before with a dog that was not great with new people and ended up getting bit - it was traumatic.
So idk if I should decline this sitting, mostly just for my peace of mind.
I don’t need the money but I feel bad saying no. The booking is pending my acceptance.
