Is this normal practice to have zero family members as trustees on the foundation? His son has been making donations to certain things that are questionable as he is using benefits from the donations such as game tickets. My grandfather whose trust this was originally would not necessarily be donating to a sports stadium to get game tickets. My dad who is the executor of this estate says that there’s nothing that he can do but I believe he is afraid to tarnish the personal relationship with our attorney over this.

He says the documents are for the state to basically tell them he’s doing a good job. Every year during this meeting he vaguely goes over what we’re signing but I never leave there with a true understanding. Is this normal for NJ? Can it be done remotely?
