The type of armor both parties get is the most standard one for their verse.

R1: both sides get their most standard equipment

R2: The paladins can choose any weapon from their armory (no nuclear weapons though)

R3: The Space Marine also gets to pick any weapon that is available for a standard marine

Edit: The battle takes place in Diamond City, neither party knows where the other is
