I hate how assignments have less grade weight because of AI

I am in my 4th year so I have experience of courses before and after AI, and I noticed that around 2024 or so, the weighting of assignments on my courses became practically nothing. It used to be about 60-70% tests and 30-40% assignments, but now it's almost always 10-15% assignments. It sucks because tests were always harder for me than assignments and I could use the assignment grades to boost my mark, also many classes would let you do it in groups which would help.

I understand that AI is making assignments meaningless but this massive reweighting actually makes the courses harder than previous years, because assignments are supposed to be easier than tests, because you have more time to do them and can research the topic, having more assignments means you can get a higher grade. By putting all the weight on a couple tests you risk wrecking your grade just because of a single bad test, which isn't fair.
