Some thoughts please.
I’m an experienced teacher who’s just moved to a regional city and have organised to work part time at a local public high school. I am due to start on Tuesday. I went in for one of the planning days at the beginning of term to meet everyone/plan, they all seemed welcoming.
But - they sent me the contract a month ago, but it had the wrong days. I told them this, they said they’d fix it.
Nothing happened. I followed up two weeks later.
They said ‘just sign it and we’ll fix the days afterwards’.
I said, no thank you, I want to sign a contract that reflects what I work.
Nothing happened. I followed up.
Again they are saying ‘just sign it’.
Red flag? It feels uncomfortable.
