i have an international trip to asia for basically the whole month of june that was planned and paid months ago (well before i decided to enroll at CPP so i had no idea what my major orientation dates were gonna be)

my orientation exemption request got denied bc its considered personal travel, but cancelling or changing the flight dates would be an extra $800 with the prices now...

ive contacted the orientation team several times, but their only response is that orientation is mandatory. r there ANY other options for me other than booking that $800 return flight :(( ive asked about later or even earlier dates and virtual orientation but no reponse. fall 2025 me wanted to save a little money so my current flight is nonrefundable

i'm an incoming fall 2026 student, majoring in business admin cis. in my portal, the only orientation dates are during june, the last one being june 24. however, i already have prepaid international travel plans for essentially the entire month of june (until june 25).

ive already emailed the orientation team and they said that all i can do is just submit the exempt form, but im worried my excusal wont be accepted as its only for personal traval plans, nothing serious at all.

if its not accepted, what other options do i have? can i send someone else lol? ig my only other option would be to fly back earlier, but with flight prices rn, this would be my last resort (unfortunately august 2025 me was stupid and booked non-refundable...) any advice would be helpful!
