I’m taking my MCAT on May 22 and currently scoring around 507 on practice exams. My plan is to submit AMCAS early for verification and then finalize my school list once my score comes back on June 22.

I’m considering a retake around late June or early July if needed, but I’m worried about how much that would affect my application timing.

For context:

• ~3500 clinical hours as an orthopedic MA
• ~500 hours orthopedic research + poster presentations
• ~1100 volunteer/leadership hours through a nonprofit I founded
• ~200 shadowing hours
• Starting a clinical research gap-year position at an ivy league

Would a late June/early July retake still be reasonable if the rest of the application is strong, or would it significantly hurt my cycle?
