Please help me with some doubts since I'm not the one with MS, my mom is. She discovered it in 2021 with no new flares or lesions to this day. She was taking an medication that her immune system really weak so the doctor told her to not take any meds for 6 months.
So, we just entered month 5. I'm brazilian so the free Healthcare provides the medication for free, but it tends to have 1 month delay. I'm nervous they will give her the meds after month 6, and I'm afraid she's gonna have another flare. I don't wanna ask her stuff and make her anxious, so I came here to ask how long people usually stay off meds safely, if it's normal to doctor's give a break this long, any particular detail that might be useful. Autoimmune diseases aren't that "searched"(?) in Brazil, so I couldn't find this information.

My biggest fear in life is that this happens again, I would say the day we discovered this disease I no longer felt alive again. She's my most loved person in this planet and I wanna learn.

Edit: Mom is 46, discovered MS in 2021. She used to take Tecfidera. She's got RRMS. On the first and only flare she took a while to recover, had no other lesions since then, and lives an 95% normal life(she works, drives, has no mobility issues, only vision gets foggy when nervous and has brain fog(?).
