Hey everyone, just wanted to give you guys an update on everything that's been going on at Derya. Sorry for not posting much on Reddit, we've been slammed trying to keep up with customer service and manufacturing. A big reason we're so busy is all the support from you guys, which is awesome, but it means we've fallen a bit behind here and on some other channels.
We've finally got things settled in a little better now. We've had some stuff happen, mostly good, some bad, but overall we're winning way more than we're losing, and that's what matters.
Back in October we hit our big hyper growth period, and it really hasn't slowed down since. Earlier this year we brought in full importation, but that doesn't mean we're not still investing heavy here in the United States. We're already looking at expanding our buildings, improving the factory, and hiring more people. We also brought on two engineers (one 3 months ago and 1 year ago) who have made a huge difference in our processes and workflow, especially the last couple months.
As everyone understands, stuff breaks when you're going through fast growth. If you're not growing, you're not breaking (usually), so I guess it's a good problem to have!
Just a little update on us: we actually do most of our product launches between May and November. It's kind of the opposite of what the rest of the industry does. So you'll be seeing a lot more products coming out over the next couple months, some have already been posted.
We often put stuff up on the website sometimes before we officially release it. There's a ton going on behind the scenes, including stuff we haven't talked about much yet.
We're working on the MAX shotgun (which has been heavily advertised), plus we're expanding on the DY9 and TM22, our signature lines. Since we came on board in January 2025, we've really been focused on telling the story, creating a great experience, and growing the whole family of products. That's the main plan for the next year or two. I don't want to overhype too much though, our motto is that actions speak louder, so we try to deliver before we talk too much.
One thing we're doing a bit different is our sales strategy. We keep direct from factory sales pretty limited because we really want to focus on giving people a great experience and staying engaged with the community. Guns are about history, collecting, family, and friends, whether you're shooting or just talking about them. It's all part of that great experience.
We have a big factory and great partners, four distributors and around 10 big box stores for the commercial side. Realistically, we're just not set up to efficiently sell one or two items direct. A while back we hooked up with a firearm fulfillment service (new and only that lets us sell direct to consumers while they handle the shipping and everything. This just launched today (soft launch) on www.derya.us.
The nice thing is this lets us offer factory exclusives, small runs, and items that wouldn't make sense for high volume B2B sales. You'll see a bunch of these on the website now with the "Order Now" buttons, it's all fulfilled by the fulfillment service which is us, our inventory. Some of these might be super limited, like 10, 20, or 50 pieces a year. We'll do factory specials (sometimes with good prices, sometimes not, depending on the timing or holidays), and even Reddit exclusives for members of this group at special prices. It helps keep everyone engaged and the excitement going.
Right now we only have 2 exclusive items up, like the threaded barrel and three different colored DY9 frames with all the backstraps and stuff to build it. We're adding more frames, plus a ton more pistols and rifles (both from Turkey and the US) that you'll see on the site. We expect to have over 20 factory exclusives in the next three months, and it'll keep growing from there along with our regular lineup. You can see them at https://order.derya.us/factory-exclusives.html
We've got a bunch of new products dropping in the next six months too, so stay tuned for all of that.
I know this is a long post, there's just so much going on I could keep going forever. We really appreciate all of you. Love seeing this group grow and stay active, it gets us excited too. Keep the feedback coming!
Thanks again, everyone.
Dustin, Derya (Jacksonville, FL)
P.S. For all the California people that stayed this long in post, we are submitting our patent pending DY9Z June. The patent pending is what will make it able to be sold in California, and all the states that will follow them. We will still sell original models also and before think too much into it, it probably won't be what you expect, in a good way. From looks of it, we think there is no way they can deny it, but lets see.
