I have several gold diamond rings and want to know if i should get them appraised for insurance

I’ve been eyeing a pear shaped ring with a matching band, but I keep hearing mixed things about how they hold up. If you’ve worn one, how practical is it for everyday use? Wondering if it’s something I can comfortably wear long term.
