Construction Sites
Driving home from work today and all of the sudden there are 4 new construction sites to drive through, so it takes me more than double the time to get home. Every single one of them all set up with cones already blocking lanes of traffic, none of them actually have any signs of any work being done or even a single construction worker. There are literally countries that accomplish entire construction projects overnight, but for some reason in the U.S.A. we set up our construction sites early to block the maximum amount of traffic. Oh and we set up all the construction sites at the exact same time, in the country we have literally designed to revolve all around cars and the road. How does this make any fucking sense?
To exacerbate the problem, every single person over the age of 70 decided, "Yeah I know I'm retired and have all the free time in the world, but what if I decided to hit the road at the exact same time all the working people are trying to get home?" Like I'm not saying you have any less right to drive when you want if you are old, but come on... at the very least drive the goddamn speed limit. Missed 3 fucking lights because, hey, why not just let the people who literally have no reaction time left at all continue to drive? Yeah them going 20 in a 35 totally proves they are still mentally there and it's totally safe to have them behind the wheel of a multi thousand pound vehicle that could easily kill someone. Who cares if it takes them 10 whole seconds to realize a light is green? Wouldn't trust them to be able to dodge a ball rolling at them going 1 mph, but can't take their license away because we might have to actually figure out how to have functioning public transportation. Do we do anything right here?
