Nightmare trying to receive a refund from Lenovo for an item I returned
Hi all,
Sharing this with the community both so that people know, and so that others can have evidence that this is not an isolated issue if it happens to them. On 01/24/26, I placed an order worth $ 378.78 for a WWAN module, which arrived 02/02/26. On 02/25/26, I called for a refund and the representative said I would receive a label within 2 business days. I received nothing, and on 03/04/26, I shipped the item back myself to the national return center (DOCK 35 AND 36, 6542 Franz Warner Pkwy, Whitsett NC 27377-9215). On 03/09/26, it was delivered and marked as signed for by JONES. I didn't receive a refund, so I opened a dispute with my credit card company on 03/10/26. On 04/08/26, Lenovo replied to my credit card company stating "the customer has not intended to return the merchandise or report any issues with the order; the customer still has the product." On 04/29/26, I finally received an RMA label from Lenovo. Yesterday, 05/12/26, my credit card company closed the dispute saying I should have used their RMA label (that they sent 2 months after I called) instead of shipping it back myself.
Luckily I have proof at each step of the process including the confirmation of delivery of my return, so I sent a demand letter and plan to take the issue to small claims court if they don't issue the refund. But this has taken up hours of my time and energy, and has made me not want to deal with Lenovo again. I wanted to share so that there was some record online of what happened. Happy to answer questions.
