Dr.Sophie created the Mutant.
I’ve got a theory.
DEMO 6 of Block Tales is obviously going to include Dr. Sophie, an NPC teased and introduced in DEMO 5. She’s the guardian of the Darkheart and is shown to experiment with it and study the concept of visions and sword energy as a whole.
DEMO 6 has also been (lightly) foreshadowed to be darker, including themes of the player’s negative emotions seeping back (as shown in dialogue with Telamon and Kyoko).
Now, onto the main point of the theory, in of itself.
- The Venomshank and Sword Energy
In DEMO 2, we get to see what happens when a sword is directly stabbed into someone who is gifted in sword energy. Sword energy, as a whole, seems to be a biological trait that some Robloxians innately have, usually from ancestry. Some can hone it, and become better with it, like the player.
Swords have an effect on the mental and physical state of whoever’s wielding it, usually causing confusion, visions, and/or physical changes (I.e. users currently wielding swords and seeing visions eyes turning whatever color corresponds to their sword). The Venomshank is said to be unique in its toxicity, which does partially throw a wrench in a later part of my theory. However, we’ve seen the Ice Dagger turn the Cruel King into an icy, crystallized skeleton, so physical changes by swords are definitely not out of the question.

Here’s where we get to speculating. Dr. Sophie is noted to be particularly interested in experimenting with the swords.
The Darkheart, the sword she guards over, seems to be the one she can consistently access. What if, just maybe, she tested it on something?
No, not a something.
A someone.
And I believe that the person she experimented on was the Mutant
- The Mutant
The Mutant, secret boss of Chapter 3, is deformed, with blackened skin and stretchy, long limbs, along with a smile that looks almost.. melted?
The Darkheart is black, and in its icon, includes white accents. All of the other secret bosses have some sort of exposition, and if not, are described as coming from another time. Most of them aren’t super hidden, really.
The Mutant is locked within the attic of the Manor, with a gate that requires heavy duty gear that only elites and/or guardians could wield.
My guess is that before Dr.Sophie had a lab, she used the attic, at Telamon’s discretion. She experimented with the Darkheart, but eventually got bored after all the dead ends. Then, she found a Noob. Just a regular person off the street, who seemed to have a decent amount of natural sword energy.
So, she asked the noob to stab themselves.
Their body began to mutate, shifting, and pulsating, stretching, melting. Their cries of agony as the Darkheart seeped through their veins suddenly stopped when the blade was pulled from them. Their behavior changed. Anger, confusion, rage. They stretched their limbs towards Dr.Sophie, hoping that they could take her down with them.
She ran out, closed the door, and asked Telamon to seal the attic in a way that subtly begged for him not to ask any questions.
