My husband and I (both in our 40s) are planning our first trip to Newport this July for my birthday! We’re visiting from the West Coast and would love advice on where to stay.

We’d ideally love somewhere walkable so we can easily explore Newport without moving the car much.

I’m currently considering:
• Hydrangea House
• The Bayberry
• Sarah Kendall House
• Beech Tree Inn & Cottage (is this too far from everything?)

We’d love any thoughts or recommendations! I wish we could stay at one of the larger luxury hotels, but they’re a little out of budget for this trip.

Also — we LOVE a great bakery and coffee shop, and would love recommendations for a memorable birthday dinner.
