I moved to another house temporarily for a semester. It turns out that, during this time, the power in my main house was cut off for the last 3 months without me knowing. When I returned, I got everything back in order, but the damage to the refrigerator was extensive.
It was in terrible shape; everything inside spoiled, and the fridge became infested with bugs and what looked like little "eggs." I cleaned the inside completely and threw everything away, but a few problems persist:
It’s not cooling: It simply isn't getting cold.
The bugs keep coming back: Even though I cleaned it, they reappear constantly, even with the fridge empty.
The smell: Although it has improved, it is still horrific.
Regarding the first point, I’m going to call a technician. However, I want to solve the other two issues (the bugs and the smell) before they come to my house to check the fridge. Any advice?
