Hey so I am looking to get my feet wet in handheld gaming and seeing lots of really cool options. I’m looking mostly retro mainly GBA. I know eventually I will want to get into customizing stuff because I know I will eventually want to get into rom hacks (specifically pokemon) and other customizing. However, to start I really would like to ease into it and have something that is playable out of the box. I want the hobby to be playing the games not personalizing the handheld whether that is customizing the OS or finding and editing the game catalogues. At least to start to see if the whole handheld thing works for me. The tech side of this hobby scares me a bit because I, not super tech savvy but if the handhelds are fun and rom hacks are too irresistible I’m sure I’ll fall down that rabbit hole eventually. So I’ve been looking at budget options to get started and I like the Battlexp g350, the Miyoo flip and a couple others, but my main question is this; is it worth it to buy the “upgraded card” like what is sold on litnxt (I think it is ARKOS) or should I just get the stock card from somewhere cheaper like Amazon or aliexpreess? Any and all advice is super welcome and appreciated!
