My kitty Max 14 has been through it this month. Vet appointments, hospitalization, meds, fluids. We hospitalized him at stage 4 kidney values and he’s down to stage 2 with anemia (HCT-23-25). Unsure why he was in stage 4 but they suspect UTI. This all started April 1st.
His best day was this Wednesday when he finally maintained his weight but the following day there was blood in his pee so I took him to the vet and he’s on all the meds/antibiotic and we’re waiting for the culture. I hope this isn’t a recurring thing but I’m just going to enjoy his high spirits right now.
My bf has a sleeping bag and it has been Max’s comfort item through this month so I bought him a pet sleeping bag. It’s from Amazon (I know, Amazon) for 23 dollars.
What have you spoiled your CKD cat with?
Have any of you dealt with recurring UTI or sterile infections?
Max has a history of sturvite crystals and blockage so I’ve decided to keep him on the C/D wet diet since he won’t eat the renal diets anyway.
