Hello DIY Fragrance community!
Over the past few months I’ve been learning the basics of perfumery, with a particular interest in strange or non-pleasant scents. Since I’m somewhat close to the contemporary art scene, and some people discovered my new activity, I’ve been asked to create a “dust” scent for an art installation.
I need to send a few samples within the next month, and one of them will likely be used during the exhibition.
I wasn’t given strict guidelines regarding the type of dust to recreate, so I’m currently exploring a few different directions:
- Humid Dusty Basement
- Apo Patchone — 1
- Geosmin 1% — 0.5
- Patchouli — 0.1
- Cashmeran — 0.1
- Dry Old House Dust
- Apo Patchone — 1
- Olibanum EO — 0.5
- Vanillin — 0.5
- Geosmin 1% — 0.3
- Iso E Super — 0.3
- Patchouli — 0.15
- Cashmeran — 0.1
- Cedarwood Texas — 0.05
- Mineral / Construction Dust
- Apo Patchone — 1
- Geosmin 1% — 0.1
- Iso E Super — 0.5
- Galaxolide — 0.5
- Ambroxan — 0.1
- Cashmeran — 0.1
- Calone — 0.1
What do you think about this potential accords? Do they seem balanced? I'm missing any interesting ingredient? Should i remove something? I appreciate your ideas.
