I’m a 28 y/o F who is on day 25 of recovery and just had a post op visit yesterday. My doctor says I’m healing slower than they’d like and I have to start a gargle solution now. My biggest issue is that I still can’t sleep on my back at night. I can inhale through my nose but halfway through my exhale, it feels like my breathing gets stuck. This is miserable for me since I’m a back sleeper and have such a hard time finding comfort on my side. Has anyone else experienced something similar this far out of surgery? Does it eventually get better? My doctor says I have no obstruction in my airways and that I should be able to breathe fine….except I can’t. Is it swelling related? I do still have some white spots, tender tissue, and irritation on my uvula and my tonsil bed.
