Visiting Japan in June this year and staying near Ueno. Going as a group of 5 and really want to do a day trip to Mt Fuji of course. I’ve got thread questions about this:
Thinking whether it’s better to rent from Tokyo and drive all the way there then come back or to take a train there and rent locally then train back? Which one would be more economical as well including cost of fuel, tolls etc.
What are some of the must see spots? Currently really want to visit Lake Kawaguchiko, Lake Yamanaka, chureito pagoda and the Lawson. Any of these overrated? And any other hidden gems people would recommend?
Is it better to just go with a tour group and let them handle everything? I know there’s chance of rain in June so I’m thinking if we drive ourselves we have more flexibility. Aside from the weather are there other reasons to go for one over the other?
