I’m got a marathon coming up in 3 weeks. Yesterday was meant to be my longest run at 34k but bonked at 24k due to overheating and under fuelling (travelled for work the day before). My current long run schedule has been

8 weeks out - 28k 7 weeks out - 31k (zone 2) 6 weeks out - 10 mile race 5 weeks out - 32k 4 weeks out - 27k 3 weeks out - 24k due to bonking.

Should I aim for another 30/32k next weekend and then taper? This is my first marathon - all weeks I’ve been averaging 30-40mpw with 41 peak. I appreciate anyone’s advice on this.

Hello, I’ve been training for a marathon and trainings been going well. The marathons in 4 weeks and have just realised it’s scheduled during my luteal phase 3-2 days before my period. I’m sensitive to hormones and this is always the days leading up is always the worst time running for me (legs feel heavy, more tired, slower paces feel more hard work, heart rate increases). I’ve been looking at period delay pills but never tried these before and don’t really want to do nothing new on race day.. please can anyone advise.
