My dog, 5 y/o female American Staffordshire terrier, used to be very friendly with strangers who wanted to pet. Now, for the past few months, she will act happy and excited when strangers approach, but suddenly, when they go to pet her, she will leap up, bark, even "pretend-bite" and/or "grabbing" towards their arms.

It's very bizarre, especially since she starts out as her old self, but suddenly decides to basically shout "fu*k off" to get them away. Once they back off, she calms straight back down and act as if nothing happened.

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on with her? She still behaves as normal with people she knows.
