We have had in mind for a long time to do a 5-7 day inn to inn walking trip in the Cotswolds. But it sounds like the area is over run with celebrities and tourists. Ugh. Any thoughts on alternatives that would be similar. I love the idea of walking the ancient paths and chilling at a pub and staying in cute inns. Open to any area in Great Britain as this would be part of a 2 week trip starting in London and ending in Edinburg or Glasgow

Any thoughts on time frame? Late June - mid Aug is our available window. Also midges??

PS. We will be coming from the US.
