Ateneo De Manila University - A.B. Interdisciplinary Studies vs De La Salle University - B.S. Applied Economics major in Financial Economics

Hello! I passed both courses but I’m still quite unsure which one to take up. I’ve been hearing that Ateneans are generally more preferred by employers but the fact that Interdisciplinary Studies is quite general and only allows students to take up 15 units per track (you can mix two tracks in IS) means I would basically be getting a watered-down version of a course. When it comes to environment, I prefer ADMU more since most of my friends are going there as well and I like that they value mental health a lot as an institution. Comparing both schools, I generally like Ateneo more.

With DLSU naman, I heard they are really the best when it comes to economics and I feel that I would enjoy this course more. Regarding my future goals, I would probably want to work in finance or banking somewhere and I feel this course is more aligned with that. However, I am not hearing great reviews about the online setup in DLSU and I don’t really know a lot of people there. I do really like the course though and economics has always been an interest of mine.

When it comes to the course I prefer DLSU by a lot but I prefer ADMU as a school and would feel more at ease there. For context, I am also diagnosed with depression and anxiety so I feel that maybe having a support system would benefit me more but at the same time I do not want to sacrifice my career just to stay “comfortable.”

Honestly, it sounds a bit shallow but I really value financial security the most considering the fact we are not very well off. So I am heavily considering whichever course will get me to a higher-paying role easier.

Any thoughts on which one would be better for me? Thank you very much in advance!
