This is a strange one for me, my dreams are normally very disjointed and don't make a lot of sense to me and I suppose this one is too but something I haven't experienced in my life, I was seeing the dream through the POV of a french or italian student speaking in english but he was uploading these videos to some indiscernable social media platform, he got his aunt to drive him out to what I can only describe as a run down abandoned alien launch site, not too dissimilar to what we would have on earth, something about the student felt off to me. They were in the launch site during an electric storm and he videos his aunt being struck by lightning but not seemingly caring for his safety and wanting to push on. A rocket thruster falls from the hangar above exposing some kind of radioactive material and this is the only point he shows any concern for whats happening around him he runs towards these gnarled gates that lead into a tunnel crying talking to his live chat about how he got his qualifications it is fine for him to be here he SHOULD be here, even after witnessing his aunt being killed he's pulling on these gates that look like overgrown metallic teeth, he manages to shift the gates as the metal retracts in and up through the ceiling and floor of this tunnel, he goes on. Talking to his chat about the place still shaken he pans the "camera" upwards and there are these strange king of pig skinned crawlers all along the roof of the tunnel he doesn't take much notice of them sort of laughing about it, until one drops onto the floor kind of morphing into what I can only describe as a pinkish cuttlefish type creature, docile at first the student begins to fuck with the animal and so it retaliates grabbing around his leg he's still laughing before the animal bears its teeth on the underbelly it begins to tear his bottom half to shreds, I'll spare the details on this but this is where I woke up. A few key things for me I just wanted to habe writtem down somewhere before I forget the immediate feeling after waking up.
The complete lack of concern for his aunt and the dangerous situation he was in
I can not recall a dream where my 'POV' was constantly switching from being this student and also watching him through the lense of a social media
How I felt all of his anger, fear, discomfort and indifference
How absolutely visceral his ending was and how it shook me out of my sleep my heart was rapid, I had cold sweats like some B-movie wake up from a nightmare type shit
The overall setting, the launch site, the gnarled gate and the cuttlefish alien all just felt weirdly material and had me immediately thinking of how AI dysmorphs our current world into this uncanny valley type of stuff, ofc it's my brain making associations but I have just never experienced something this vivid and visceral in a dream
The social media posts felt very like a Marble Hornets on an alien planet not too dissimilar to our own world just a strange feeling waking up
His end felt like watching some fucked up gore video with commenters posting in chat as this student is being tore limb from limb
