Hey Nannies out there, so are myself am a nanny. I had started being a nanny about a year ago. I have many years of childcare experience before that whether it was camp counseling, occasional babysitting, working at daycare‘s, but I have landed my first real nanny position about a year ago and I’m still with that family. I absolutely love them. I can say the communication is very very bland. It always has been, but I don’t take it personally at all and I don’t think they do either but the biggest issue that I’m having is that they are not paying me on time when I had first started they were paying me cash every Friday when I was leaving, so it was never an issue but then once we switched to start paying through Zelle, there’s been times where I’m waiting for 2-3 weeks of pay and I just feel like I’ve had to ask so many times to get paid that it’s so awkward now and I don’t think they’re doing it purposely they’re very well off and it doesn’t seem like having the money is the issue they just are not paying me on time at all. Mom and dad are both really really busy but I don’t know how to have a serious conversation with them to just be like I love you guys, but I have to start getting paid on time. I’m only 20 years old. I have my own apartment. I practically moved to the city I’m in now because of them and it’s just starting to get really frustrating. This is also a completely under the table job which I know is technically illegal this is my first position so I knew nothing about that so I’m also not getting any PTO guaranteed hours anything like that? It’s already been an issue before with them telling me two days before that they’re going on vacation for an entire week I’m literally out of money because they gave me no warning to try to fill in around them like I said I absolutely love their family and they are super flexible with me. I have access to credit cards and things like that so I can get lunch get gas whenever needed pay for any extra activities for their child with their card not waiting on reimbursements but getting paid on a time it just became really a hot mess and I don’t know how to come off as professional as possible about it
