Would you store bike in apartment long-term by carrying it through elevator? I live in 4th floor.
So I am thinking of getting a cargo bike and I live in a 4th floor apartment. Although the bike is built with many anti-theft features like sentry mode, GPS tracking, I still hesitate to leave it outside. There is a lift in my apartment, pretty standard size. The bike has little roller on the rear rack (attached picture) so you can tilt it upright and roll it vertically. Bike is about 196cm long and weighs about 37.5 kg. Handlebar is foldable. On paper, the bike should fit my elevator. But I am more wondering about the day-to-day reality:
- Does moving a 35-40 kg cargo bike in/out of elevators become annoying over time?
- Any unexpected problems with apartment storage?
Would love to hear from people who actually live with one of these things in an apartment.
