Update no thanks to those trolls in the comments with no mental capacity passed legends on a keyboard apparently, I ran down tests ended up using upsiren puddy on places that weren’t making contact to be safe and I got a successful 29 degree idle temp in desktop menue, gonna let the ptm heat up a tiny bit and break it in now hopefully I haven’t spoken too soon
I’d prefer not to run out of pad material, so this gelin 2mm pad is thick enough to cover the gaps on my 4080s that started to get around like 76 degrees from the original 72 max after about 2.5 years of heavy use so I’d like to upgrade the thermal performance of my gpu and much prefer not to hand this over to a professional and waste my money undoing my stupid mistake of taking it apart, which I unfortunately already did so basically, if I cut the sizes of the new pads to the right dimensions as shown, apply ptm7950 which will overhang slightly further than the gpu core die, is this going to be safe to screw together and power on? I have enough pads and ptm to try again and more time as a failsafe, any experts here could I please have your opinion?
Much appreciated
