I’m reasonably familiar with the process because I travel quite a bit on business but I’m normally alone and carrying on.
My situation is that this Saturday we will begin our trip from a smallish airport via a RJ connecting through DFW to MCO. I’ve found a very empty earlier flight and I’d like to get on it without paying the guaranteed change fee
I’m gold but my wife is only a base member. The trip was paid for with the AA Citibank card. We did connect the reservation and I’ll be checking the one bag.
Fairly certain we can get on the earlier flight assuming the seating chart is correct with 50 plus empties. I’m just concerned about the bag. We are staying Port Canaveral so if the bag isn’t traveling with us, the whole switch is kind of pointless.
Sorry for so much detail, just wanted to make sure it was all covered. Is this process better handled online or are we better off speaking with a human at the departure airport?
