My family and I will apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) status Summer this year, and if all goes to plan, I will be able to apply for university with a national status. However, with talks of Reform winning the election next week, I’m starting to worry whether I will be able to study in the UK at all.
I’ve looked through reform’s policies and a lot of them are focused on ‘mass deportation’, and talks have been going on about whether they’d remove the ILR status. I am also planning on working in the NHS after university, but one of Reform’s policies is to ‘put British workers first’, hence making me wonder whether I’d face discrimination in the workplace in the future. It sucks that I have to worry about my studies and now about politics, too.
If anyone is able to clear up my worries and tell me exactly what I am to expect as someone whose family moved to the UK around 5 years ago, I’d be eternally grateful.
