I bought a centauri carbon 1 in nov 2025, it was printing ok until couple of days ago. Suddenly, prints started stopping mid way. Printer has absolutely no modifications. Here is what happens
- Lights turn off
- Heatbed reading shows 0 degrees Celsius.hotend is at printing temp. Hotend fan, chamber fan, chamber lights, all turn off.
- None of the controls on the screen respond anymore - can't set new hotbed temp, turn on fans.
If I power cycle, everything is responsive again. I can set heatbed temp and confirm it is heating. Set hotend temp, confirm it is heating up. Left it for 10-15 min updating the temp from time to time so that it doesn't reset/idle out on me.
As soon as I start a print, at some random height for any print (yes, it is not on same layer and tried on several different prints) issue however is consistent.
Troubleshooting:
- Power cycling doesn't help - consistently fails at different heights along the print.
- Powered down, unplugged the power cable for couple of hours, started back up, started printing fine for 5-6 hours and started failing again -power cycled after that.
- Factory reset - printed fine for couple of hours, started failing again - power cycled after that.
- Moved from orca to elegoo slicer, printed 2 pieces failed again.
- Left the printer on the "stuck state" overnight. No change in the morning - saw error 101 message.
- Checked online documentation, and opened the bottom panel, unseated and reseated the HBED cable on both ends. Unseated and reseated the prong cables - printed 1 piece and failed again.
Can't open logs, or check what is failing on the machine. Has anyone had this issue before? Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
