Just a bit of my thoughts on 3.3
Spoilers for 3.3, ofc
I absolutely loved the story and how it's pushing WuWa's main narrative of hope and companionship. Every possible event, arc and dialogue centered on it: Hiyuki's arc, conclusion of Aemeath's arc, full cooperation of Roya, the Collective AND Black Shores to ensure absolute safety of people over their scientific achievements.
Hiyuki starts off as being jealous of Rover, thinking she's a "failure" and in a way idolizing him as this absolute beacon of hope, only to then realized he's absolutely vulnerable and can be selfish and she can even rely on him to help her, to console her and give her hope, "to stop and look around". She suffered when she lost the companionship of her mentor and older sister, losing that feeling of hope, of companionship and friendship, being engulfed by despair of the horrific post-apocalyptic world of Solaris, only to find hope again and to start trying to look for a brighter future.
Aemeath learns that she can't be a sole "savior", that doing something so monumentous as "saving the world" can only be achieved with the help of others, i.e. all the dead explorers helping her. I also interpret that moment as her starting to understand that it's also okay to let Rover save her, to save Lahai-Roi together with him, again strengthening the themes of hope and companionship.
And then there's the Exostrider stuff. I absolutely LOVE the theme of him being reanimated and made "human" by humanity's "heart" and compassion. They worshipped him and spent decades to heal him and make him whole in their gratitude to him and asking him to save them, so he answered with the same compassion and kindness and made the ultimate sacrifice. He attained his autonomy again after who knows how many years and his first act is to act absolutely human and make the ultimate sacrifice of devoting his life to saving Solaris.
All in all, I've been playing WuWa since launch and it's the first time I truly have appreciated how much love and thought was put in articulating it's narrative and themes via characters and story, not just dialogue and words, but actions and visuals too.
I am not trying to make a good literary analysis, however, just trying to put my thoughts in a coherent manner.
Kuro, pls keep cooking🙏🙏😭
