Okay so the time period for reading this book was 2010 to 2014. As I recal the book the protagonist was a kind of detective in a way he had a gun that was a lighter that he wrapped in rubber bands so when it was in his waistband it wouldnt slip or move. He had a companion named mole but his real name was Lester and the joke was he was a molester. The ending of the book was that mole betrayed the protagonist for the sister of mole. They used alot of terms that made no sense or were obscure and there was a glossery in the back that decoded theses terms. The characters were all in highschool and it wasnt dystopian or cyber punky it felt like normal highschool in most senses. Edit:the main character was male and i vaguely remember the cover being white with black words and a silhouette in black but I could be wrong
