New Commodore now won’t lock down firmware updates, following market feedback. Unsupported firmware will be just that - unsupported by Commodore.

Maybe this was putting a feeler out to see what the market would tolerate for their future projects, as has been suggested elsewhere.

Ok, a bit dry I grant you, but interesting to note nonetheless.

I personally like the analogy that disabling a game is like removing from existence all copies of a book. It’s an interesting parallel to draw given Amazon’s attitude toward Kindle in the last eighteen months.
