Hey, my dad who has COPD/emphysema has a hard time breathing of course and therefore talking. Though, when he drinks vodka or whiskeys he gets his voice back making it easier for him to converse. I wish he wouldn’t drink so much but I also get why he does. Is the alcohol dissolving phlegm build up? And if so is there a non alcohol beverage or something that could do something similar.

That being said, he is taking his puffers and other meds. TIA
