Need some feedback please!

I’ve been dealing with what my derm thinks is a mix of folliculitis/body acne + keratosis pilaris (KP) on my back and chest. I wanted to post my history/routine in case anyone has had similar skin or has suggestions.

January 2026 (first derm appointment):
My back had persistent inflamed bumps, bacne, and rough KP-type texture. I had already tried different topicals/body washes before seeing my derm without much improvement.

She started me on:
Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for 8 weeks
Clindamycin lotion twice daily
CLN SportWash/BodyWash 2–3x weekly
Naturium Salicylic Acid Body Wash (was already using this so she told me to continue)

March 2026 follow-up:

My back improved a lot overall. The inflamed acne/folliculitis calmed down, but I still had smaller rough white bumps/texture that she thought was mostly KP/residual folliculitis.

She told me to follow this:
Continued clindamycin once daily
Finished doxycycline
Continued CLN wash
Started tretinoin 0.025% at night
Started First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser scrub
(Eventually, a few months later I increased to tretinoin 0.05% because I tolerated 0.025% really well with no dryness.)

Current routine:
Tretinoin 0.05% nightly on back
Clindamycin lotion daily
CLN SportWash a few times weekly
Naturium salicylic acid body wash on days I don’t use CLN
First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser 1–2x weekly

Recently switched from Eucerin Roughness Relief to Aquaphor because I honestly like it more, and I don’t think the Eucerin lotion was doing much for me.

Things are definitely better than before, especially the inflamed bumps, but I feel like I’ve kind of plateaued with the texture/small bumps. Curious if anyone with KP + folliculitis overlap has had success with anything else. And even though the inflammation has improved, i still get a couple new inflamed pimples every 2 or so weeks.

I know this kind of thing takes time and consistency, but I’m honestly getting really tired of dealing with this on my back. It’s been consistent for a while now and it’s starting to affect how I feel day to day.

I’m willing to be patient, but at this point I’d really be open to trying something different or adjusting the current plan if there are other options. I just want to see more progress and get this under control if possible, especially with summer right around the corner.

Hope I didn’t miss anything.
Any help/input is appreciated. Thanks!
