Please help closing off open floor plan!
We're investing in our house to make it function for us more. I'd like to explore some options to close the first floor off. It was great when we had babies but I'd like spaces to function individually. I would like to close off the family room from the kitchen and dining. Our foyer opens up from a dark and moody hallway into the big room and I want it to be cozier.
The area behind the couch doesn't function as anything. It's a waste of space and dead -- should we swap the dining to be over there? reduce and square off the island? Skip and just move?
