Hi everyone, I’m trying to understand an intermittent A/C issue on my 2015 Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dCi and was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
Over the past few years I’ve had multiple A/C issues. I even replaced the compressor twice and did several refrigerant recharges.
Now the behavior is a bit strange:
When outside temperature is around 20–22°C, the A/C works fine
When it gets warmer (around 24–26°C or higher), the A/C doesn’t work at all
The compressor doesn’t engage (no click, just normal air)
Once it stops working, it stays off even if the temperature drops again
If I leave the car for a few hours or overnight, it starts working again.
I also checked:
Cooling fan is working
Condenser is a bit dirty but not completely blocked
Tried cooling the condenser with water → no change
So it feels like the system is going into some kind of protection mode when it’s hot, and then resets after sitting.
Has anyone had similar symptoms?
Could it be a pressure sensor issue, incorrect refrigerant charge, or something else?
